On November 14, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus held a meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and establishment "The Main Information and Analytical Center of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus" with experts from the second Global assessment mission of the national statistical system of the Republic of Belarus. Its purpose is to analyze and evaluate the compliance of the state statistical system with European standards, including the Basic principles of official statistics of the United Nations, European Statistics Code of Practice , and the Compendium of statistical requirements of Eurostat. The event is organized by the Statistical service of the European Union (Eurostat).
Invited experts were representatives of Eurostat, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), and the UN European Commission, as well as independent specialists.
During the event, the activities of the Ministry of education as the body authorized to maintain statistics in the field of education were discussed. Special attention was paid to the issues of legal support for statistical activities, analysis of the tools used, the effectiveness of statistical processes, working with respondents and users, as well as the use of education statistics for sustainable development. The management of the MIAC of the Ministry of education of the Republic of Belarus provided information on the achievements and further steps in the organization of statistical activities of the Ministry of education.
At the end of the meeting, participants discussed promising areas for the development of accounting in the field of education, taking into account global trends.
Based on the results of the Global assessment of the national statistical system of the Republic of Belarus, international experts will prepare a detailed report and make recommendations on priority areas for further development of the national statistical system of the Republic of Belarus.
